Event Date: Tuesday, May 4, 2021
This Community Learning Series event focused on efforts to reduce youth violence in Cedar Rapids. In 2020, training began to implement the Group Violence Intervention (GVI) model, developed by the National Network for Safe Communities (NNSC), in Cedar Rapids. This was made possible by an anonymous grant to the Creating Safe, Equitable and Thriving Communities (SET) Fund. Information was shared about GVI, local efforts, and success stories from other communities.
The event was facilitated by Rachel Rockwell, SET Program Officer at the Community Foundation.
